History

  1. 1864C.E. Tasker purchased a wagon wheel shop at 41 Exeter Street in Newmarket, NH, becoming the town's first undertaker and embalmer.
  2. 1917C.E. Tasker died, and Albert Brown and Ernest Trottier purchased the business, operating it as Brown & Trottier Funeral Home.
  3. 1953Roy E. Kent began his association with the funeral home.
  4. 1954Albert Brown and Ernest Trottier died.
  5. 1955Raymond Brisson and Roy E. Kent purchased the funeral home, changing its name to Brisson & Kent Funeral Home. Roy E. Kent became part owner.
  6. 1971Roy E. Kent became the sole owner, changing the name to Kent Funeral Home. Edward A. Pelczar began his association with the funeral home.
  7. 1975Edward A. Pelczar graduated from New England Institute and became a licensed funeral director and embalmer.
  8. 1986Edward A. Pelczar owned and operated the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home.
